TOTAL CARE PLAN

Comprehensive Care, One Fixed Price

AlienMedic.jpg

The WineryConnect Total Care Plan (TCP for short) is a fixed monthly price plan which, in addition to a core set of IT Operations solutions and services, includes a set of Commerce capabilities along with other options uniquely customized to each of our winery clients.

Total Care Plan Evaluation

The starting point is a TCP Evaluation. The TCP Evaluation is simply a set of discussions, (around 4-5 hours total on average) between Sam Weiner, our Founder and vCIO, and key stakeholders in your winery. A couple highest level business/technology conversations are followed by formal Architecture, Service, and Risk assessments, leading to a Strategy Review.

You can get a good idea of how this works in an interview Sam did with the CEO of Humanize IT (the tool we are using to help guide these discussions):

Three Core Capabilities, One Premium Service

Based on the TCP Evaluation, we agree with each client on a TCP subscription rate to cover the solutions and services they require. TCP rests on four strategic pillars: three core capabilities, complemented by our premium Professional Services. The result is a uniquely virtuous cycle of continuous improvement.

This is key. Every winery is unique because every winery owner is unique and has unique dreams, perspectives, and specific business goals. The core of Total Care Plan IT Leadership is a regular strategic meeting (typically a Quarterly Business Review) where the WineryConnect Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) works with each winery to build on TCP Evaluation discussions. Each meeting we will revisit the Architecture, Services, and Risk assessments, reviewing progress and identifying new objectives. WineryConnect works with ownership and management to progressively align technology to support business objectives. In other words, TCP subscriptions are not just Bespoke up-front, they are continually tailor-fit to each client as needs change over time. For more detail, see IT Leadership.

The cost of many of the services we resell and manage is highly variable. For instance Point Of Sale services and backup services often vary greatly based on volume of usage or other particulars. On the other hand, some Centralized Services don't vary greatly in cost, and at the same time provide great value to all or most wineries. Our TCP Core services are included in all TCP subscriptions, and we continually curate additional options.

The Total Care Plan includes a selected (and growing) set of these services such as (just a few examples):

  • Properly licensed and powerfully customizable music streaming (Pandora CloudCover)

  • Remote Management & Monitoring of the Revel POS system (Revel Guard)
  • Dynamic and ongoing mapping, monitoring, and management of client networks with Auvik

  • Remote Management & Monitoring of workstations and servers, as well as Endpoint Detection & Response, backup and other key asset focused capabilities included in Kaseya 365 Endpoint

  • Email backup and security, user awareness training & testing, and other employee focused capabilities in Kaseya 365 User
  • Secure networking via MySonicWall remote management for SonicWall firewalls
  • Remote Management & Monitoring of reliable and configurable network infrastructure from Hewlett Packard Enterprise using the Instant On portal remote management for Aruba managed switches and wireless access points

  • Our proprietary commerce data fabric, the CommerceConnect Fabric (CCF)

Our Grape Squad is absolutely industry expert. We started helping wineries in 2013, and the Grape Squad has learned over the years from all our clients how best to support winery staff in engaging consumers in the tasting room, online, at festivals, and in other contexts. For more detail on our capabilities, see Support.

The biggest things that differentiate one TCP subscription from another are the number of staff the Grape Squad supports, the number and type of systems the Grape Squad supports, and the level of support needed by all of the above.

Where our clients need particularly complex and individual technology support, WineryConnect offers Professional Services (custom software development with a focus on integration, automation, and management reporting) on a project basis. Very often these projects will take the form of enhancements to our proprietary commerce data fabric, the CommerceConnect Fabric (CCF) as clients need custom reports created and Connections built to additional cloud business systems.

In this way WineryConnect is able to support a continually expanding ecosystem of best-of-breed business systems that work for wineries (Point Of Sale, online stores and wine clubs, online reservations, etc.). The fact that CCF is included in TCP creates a feedback loop - the more Connections we build, the more broadly we can support winery operations for all our clients, and the more broadly we support winery operations the more we will identify opportunities to build new Connections.

In addition to continually adding business system partners, WineryConnect works closely with the Finger Lakes Community College to nurture technically minded students with an interest in wineries and the Grape Squad. The net result is a virtuous cycle where we continually enhance the services we offer, and we continually grow our people who support those services and winery staff.
